Educational Objective

Educational Objective

The aim of the Department of Future Technology is to organically integrate professional knowledge reflecting the demands of future industrial society with the unique academic areas of the majors in each department, thereby cultivating talented individuals with convergence knowledge and competencies. The department aims to flexibly open and operate curriculums suitable for future society and cultivate multidisciplinary convergence and integration capacities. Currently the AI/Big Data track, Smart Factory track, Metaverse track and Global Creativity Convergence major (combined major for four universities in the Chungcheongnam-do region) are offered to all students, centering on a new type of education utilizing edutech and PBL lectures to improve problem-solving.

Curriculum

Microdegree (Special Track)

Condition for track completion: Complete 12 credits or more for each track

The total credits are recognized regardless of the curriculum reform.
Big Data Utilization has been excluded from the common mandatory of Special track from the 2023 school year (applicable regardless of the admission year).

  • Special tracks are recognized as major elective courses of the student’s major
  • A special track course cannot be taken if there is the same or an alternative course in the major. / Recognized as completed when taking the same or an alternative course (up to two courses per major)
  • Freshmen cannot take special track courses due to the courses’ characteristics

Up to 10 credits are recognized as credits for major elective courses of the student’s major when the student has completed special track courses, and up to 6 credits are recognized when special track courses have not been completed

Global Creativity Convergence Major

    • A combined major for four universities (KOREATECH, Sun Moon University, Hanseo University and Woosong University) in the Chungcheongnam-do region is operated.

  • As each course may be offered by a different university, lectures are run in accordance with the intensive curriculum (every Friday, 7.5 weeks × 2 terms) for the efficient operation of the curriculum.
    • Courses during school vacation are open during the summer or winter vacation according to the schedule
