To cultivating learning leaders with a healthy self-image

The Department of Human Resource Development cultivates talented individuals who have the competencies of learning leaders, which are commonly required for vocational competency training teachers, practical engineers, HR staff and workplace trainers, through the HRD minor program based on fields such as vocational training, human resource development, education engineering and counseling. Aside from the teaching competency, which is a core competency at the university, the Department of Human Resource Development provides competencies customized for the type of talented individuals such as the competencies necessary to perform the role of a vocational competency development training teacher in a job training institute, the competencies of a practical engineer who can lead on-the-job training (OJT) in companies and public corporations, the competencies of HR development staff who plan, develop, implement and evaluate corporate training in companies and public corporations, and the competencies of a workplace trainer in a Korean-style work-study system.

Educational Objective of the School

  • Perform the role of a vocational competency training teacher
    • Perform the role of a vocational competency training teacher who aids job seekers or current employees in gaining lifelong job competencies to improve the employment prospect of each individual
  • Fulfill the role of a workplace-learning based practical engineer
    • Recognize the necessity of lifelong learning and fulfill the role of a workplace-learning based practical engineer who can lead a learning organization and OJT in companies and public corporations
  • Perform the role of an HR development professional
    • Perform the role of an HR development professional who plans, develops and implements learning solutions to improve the performance of the organization and individuals in companies and public corporations
  • Perform the role of a workplace trainer
    • Perform the role of a workplace trainer who guides and teaches learning workers in a Korean-style work-study system

Direction of Education

The purpose of the Department of Human Resource Development of KOREATECH is to cultivate talented individuals who are hands-on but also have the expertise of a human resource development professional. The Department of Human Resource Development fosters practical engineering-based vocational training teachers, workplace trainers, HRD experts, HR development staff and specialized/meister high school teachers. The Department of Human Resource Development offers various courses to acquire the HRD competencies necessary for HR development experts. As HRD education is the process of developing the core competencies needed for HR development experts, the curriculum of the HRD Department consists of courses where students can learn the knowledge and skills of the basic principles and methods necessary to increase these core competencies.
